CATP has worked on model gender clauses for our affiliated organizations. We have also participated in the drafting of the Care Systems Bill, as well as advocating for its approval, and in training activities on the gender pay gap through the ILO Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV).

In addition, we have taken part in the ACTRAV gender-sensitive job evaluation for the elimination of wage gaps with one of our affiliates, the Single Union of Inspectors and Workers of the National Superintendence of Labor Inspection. This work gives continuity to the use of tools validated within the framework of EPIC and reinforces the political campaigns of the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas and of Public Services International conducted in the Americas. This time, the working method also involves a local European trade union.

Furthermore, we actively participate in social dialogue forums, such as the Tripartite Working Group on Gender and the Working Group on Domestic Workers of the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion.

For us, EPIC is emblematic in the fight for equal pay around the world, and especially in Peru, where the employment situation for women has declined dramatically following the pandemic, with women often opting for precarious, temporary and informal jobs, despite the longer working hours and lack of social security.

Joining EPIC will allow us to consolidate the work that we have been doing to promote the fundamental rights of women workers and other vulnerable groups, bearing in mind the cross-cutting nature of gender and human rights.
